Join the Kansas City Streetcar Authority (KCSA), Kansas City Area Transportation Authority (KCATA), City of Kansas City (KCMO), and Port KC as they mark the start of construction for the KC Streetcar Riverfront Extension.

The 0.7 mile extension begins at 3rd Street and Grand Boulevard in the River Market and ends near the midpoint of Berkley Riverfront. The route will connect residents, businesses, and visitors to new and existing amenities at the Riverfront including the new home of the KC Current, the CPKC Stadium.

WHEN: 10 a.m. on Friday, March 1, 2024 – groundbreaking ceremony, followed by an opportunity to meet the project team
WHERE: Near Riverfront Drive and Berkley Plaza
WHAT: A celebration of the start of construction with speakers representing the project partners, followed by an opportunity to meet the team building the extension.

After the groundbreaking, members of the public are invited to a meet and greet with the project team in the PortKC offices at 110 Berkley Plaza, Kansas City, Missouri. Grab a cup of coffee, light refreshments, and have your questions answered by the crews who are constructing the Riverfront Extension over the next two years.
