A joint venture of RS Electric and WITEC Electrical Contractors directs the electrical work for KC Streetcar Riverfront Extension.
This partnership combines RS Electric’s in-depth knowledge of the KC Streetcar system with WITEC’s expertise in signals and street lighting. Approximately 25 field and office members are dedicated to the Riverfront Extension project.
About the Teams
RS Electric is a leading electrical contractor specializing in a range of industries including manufacturing, industrial, healthcare, overhead and underground distribution, and transportation sectors. Well-acquainted with the KC Streetcar system, the RS Electric team has worked closely with the KC Streetcar Authority and the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority to ensure the smooth operation of the system. The company conducts semi-annual and annual inspections, as well as substation maintenance, to keep the streetcar system running efficiently and reliably, minimizing service disruptions while maintaining peak performance.
The RS team is led by Vice President Dustin Dunham, who serves as Project Manager for the joint venture. Dustin has a passion for giving back and making a positive impact on others which is evident in his daily work. He is deeply inspired by the incredible work of Shriners International, the world-renowned philanthropic organization dedicated to supporting children’s healthcare through its network of specialized hospitals.
Jason DeVooght brings 31 years of industry experience to the role of Superintendent at RS Electric. Jason oversees site operations and crew coordination. His experience and leadership are key to keeping everything running smoothly. Outside of work, Jason enjoys spending time outdoors, especially hunting.
Adrienne Branham is RS Electric’s Document Control, playing a critical part in managing project documentation. A fun fact about Adrienne is that she was born on Christmas Day!
Whatever It Takes Electrical Contractors (WITEC) provides electrical contracting services specializing in traffic signal, streetlight, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), and electrical solutions for commercial and industrial sectors. WITEC has collaborated with Radmacher Brothers Excavation (RBE), the team overseeing the KC Streetcar Riverfront Extension, on other projects including street light and signal upgrades, Dynamic Message Sign boards and Intelligent Transportation Systems, roadway sensors, closed circuit television, and navigation lights. Highly experienced in both public and private projects, WITEC’s portfolio includes successful partnerships with federal and state agencies, municipalities, and specialized facilities such as wastewater treatment plants and airports.
WITEC Electrical Contractors is led by President and Owner, John Rolls, who brings over 30 years of experience to the company. WITEC is a certified MBE/DBE organization, having grown a reputation for excellence under John’s leadership. He enjoys barbecuing, watching sports, and spending quality time with his family.
Sandy Walker brings 33 years of experience in the electrical trade as WITEC’s Project Manager and Safety Manager. When she isn’t working you can find her cooking, fishing, attending grandkids sporting events, and enjoying family time.
